Well what a stunning day after a forecast of storms! Arriving at Mounts Bay we took a warm up stroll to the start unlike a few others who caught the bus. It's always a busy registration with queues for loos & the goody bags with a stunning green hoody this year. I felt like going home then.

Met with Hannah Adams who looked after my girlies for me thank you very much. Off to the start where we were all squashed up in a country lane. Time markers were in view which helped us find roughly where you wanted to start the race. It always seems that a car has to appear but this year there were three, so a squash into the hedges.

Bang off goes the gun for a fast down hill start. Terry on the hill for the fresh looking photos. Keeping to the left as told was pretty easy then up a hill as we all know what goes down must come up!! Lots of encouragement from the Marshall's on route. For a February day I couldn't believe how hot it was!! Which for me meant the usual sports bra running top as I was overheating! I was so glad to see the drinks station one for me two over my head!! Relief for a while or so I hoped.

Continuing on gradually passing each mile marker with lots of purple and gold passing me I wished I could see the bridge near then end!! I met up with Dawn Spiteri who helped me with the last few miles. Hearing the traffic I knew the bridge was around the corner thank god!!! The bridge but what comes after that oh yes the hill to the finish!!! OMG I remember it well off we went not too fast as it's a bit of a long one!! Words of encouragement from spectators, me telling Dawn not too fast yet, we paced it up the hill & even managed to pass one! Yahoo finished I've never felt so hot it shows that you can never predict the weather in February.

Some PB's on the course today but a special double one for Emma Watkins and Becky James! Category prizes went to Sue Mellis (1st place), Phil Montgomery-Smith (2nd), Stephen Hands (2nd), Malcolm Roberts (1st). Men's team - 6th - Phil Montgomery-Smith, Stephen Hands, Simon Williams, Tim Adams, Andy Trudgian, Richard Martin
